Q&A with Clean Energy’s Own Virgil Zook

We had a moment to sit down with Virgil Zook to discuss the upcoming heating season and ask him about what’s next for Clean Energy. There have been a lot of new developments in the waste oil heating field over the past year and Virgil was able to fill us in on what to expect this year from Clean Energy.

Q: What makes you excited about the upcoming heating season?

Since the last 2 winters have been so cold, our furnaces have generated a lot of interest. Also, more and more car dealerships are becoming customers because, in the last 9 to 10 months, there have been significant changes in how car dealerships dispose of waste oil. Instead of paying to dispose of their oil like they used to, dealerships can now convert their waste oil into fuel to heat their businesses. It’s very exciting for us to see our customers achieving a return on investment in a year to 18 months instead of 3 to 4 years like in previous years.

Q: What are you hearing from customers about how they’re planning for the upcoming heating season?

This year our customers are planning ahead for the winter like never before. The last few winters have proven to be very cold, causing our summer inquiries to be higher than ever. It can be very costly to get rid of used oil, but with Clean Energy’s furnaces we are able to save our clients money as well as provide a service that is good for the environment. With a waste oil furnace, businesses don’t need to worry about punitive “cradle to grave” laws which make disposing of used oil a risky business.

Q: What new products and accessories do you have in the works?

Our number one new product we are very excited to introduce is our Wi-fi thermostat. It can be very bothersome for businesses to have to wait for their furnaces to heat up their work environment. Now with our new Wi-fi thermostat, business owners can control the temperature of their businesses through an app on their Android or iPhone. You could literally lie in bed and control the heat of your furnace so your business is warmed up and ready to go when you open up shop. We can’t wait for our customers to experience the benefit of controlling the heat of their furnace from wherever they are.

Q: What makes you most excited about the Clean Energy product line?
